Being a outdoor wood boiler owner for 10 years now..One thing I highly recommend is stocking up on spare parts for your boiler.. For example, Today I came home and my wood boiler was overheating..First thing I thought is was my fan flapper..Nope..Turns out it was my door rope..I could hear a draft being sucked at the bottom of the door..Thank goodness I have a couple of door ropes.Otherwise I would of been screwed..You never know what will happen and in a pinch you'll need that part to keep rolling..

Good points, now just sourcing the parts without (insert boiler name here) logo and paying twice the actual real-world value.
I need to grab a rope, combustion blower, damper solenoid myself.

What other parts do you guys keep on hand? Self sufficient living is one big reason most burn wood so it makes sense to have what you need to keep running.

I have a spool of door rope and a spare combustion blower, pump and aquastat...as well as pex tubing, fittings and tools to install same.

I have a fan on hand, few flappers, few springs, door rope, solenoid, grate, door handle, and some gaskets..I need to buy a backup pump..All these parts that I have, Ive helped other buddy's boilers when they are in a pinch

Best thing about keeping spare parts around, if you have em, you won’t use em. It will always be what you don’t have is the one thing you’ll need.
I kept a spare pump, solenoid and controller around for my old boiler, all parts on it when it got retired after 15 years were original parts.

I keep a spare pump, and have anything piping related on hand for other reasons, but as far as parts specific to my stove I have none. I have a good enough relationship with my dealer that I can pretty much just drop by his shop and grab whatever I need off his shelf and pay him later. I realize that's not the case with many of you in remote, dealerless areas unfortunately, so in that case I would probably keep any consumable around as well

I keep a pump, solenoid, and fan on hand. Also kept various pex fittings and clamps from the install in case of leaks. Luckily, in 16 years the only thing needing repair during heating season was a pump.

I have extra blower, solenoid, pump, fuses, lower water probe on hand. I replaced the gasket on the fire door a couple of seasons ago. Roger

I keep a spare pump. I have a spare temperature controller and door rope kit left over from my old wood boiler. Door rope might be useful someday. If anyone needs a spare temp controller for an older Central Boiler classic model (I had a 2004 CL5648), message me - I'll let it go for cheap.

I believe having spare parts on hand ...keeps things running.... Nobody likes to be replaced !
