You may very well be right Sluggo. What is a 4000 rated at anyway? It is just that a 1600 sq. ft. well insulated house isn't t that big.

I'm going to take an educated guess,I have owned three Heatmasters,that it "rated" for 3,000 square feet.  I have a 20,000 and I am heating around 8,000 square feet.  There are mornings my stove is empty also.  I will guarantee the stove is undersized.  Two options...1.) new stove 2.) supplemental heat source.  It's not what anybody wants to hear but knowing the problem sooner than later can save thousands in the long run
