Central Boiler / Cycle rate??
« on: December 17, 2013, 10:14:11 AM »
Just curious how often does your wood burner cycle?? I have a CB6048 that cycles about every 2-2.5 hour... I understand it depends on heat load. This is the rate@ 20f outside
What i'm heating: 3000 sqft house
1000sqft pole barn spray foamed
What's your rate??
FYI: i moniter with an X300

Central Boiler / Going from classic to eclassic
« on: February 21, 2013, 05:36:36 PM »
I bought a used CB-6048 a couple of years ago, and have been very happy with it. Today i was in an area for work that had a central dealer nearby. I was amazed at how small the fire box is on the 1450 and 2400 e-series. I load my classic every 12 hrs with only a 5-6 pieces of wood, do to it being over sized for my application, but couldn't pass up a good deal .
I was just curious if anyone has posted a youtube video of weekly cleaning in their e-classics? Looks like there is definitely a little more labor involved compared to what i currently do.
I would some day like to switch to a gasser but i am sure thats a few or many years away. Just searching for a little feed back.
Currently heating:
1000 sq pole barn with radiant heat.
3000 sq ft house forced air and dhw average insulation
Thanks!

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Furnace runtime
« on: January 04, 2012, 10:22:36 AM »
Just checking to see what is normal.
3000 sq2 foot home
R13 walls
20 inches blown insulation in ceiling.
2007 built home by previos owner
Furnace seems to run often:
9 min on
19 min off
Timed it for 2 hours last night
OAT was 20*F
Basement could be sucking quite a bit of heat
out .....poured 8ft walls uninsulated.
Cb6048 set @ 185
