Equipment / Re: Splitter Valve
« on: January 05, 2015, 08:25:17 PM »
I have a Husky 35T splitter that should detent upon return for hands free.  Only after running for 20 or more minutes will it work properly.  Any suggestions as to why it only works when "warmed up" or is this normal?
One thing you can try, pull both pins out of the valve & rotate the valve rod 180* & put your pins back in & see if that helps. that gives your detent ball a new surface to run on. I have fixed this very problem in the past like this. Hope this helps.

Yes I really like it, what I do is park the splitter with the table over my conveyor & bring the logs to the splitter. from the conveyor pile I stack it on pallets, then when I need wood I get my skidsteer and haul the pallets in the shop. saves me alot of handling.

I bought all the hoses from surplus center made to the size I needed. Best price I found anywhere. I really like the way it works.

          Thanks, Larry

Great job Larry, nice to see some good ol' Show-Me State ingenuity here on the forum.   8)

I am located near Mt. Vernon, got a 100 acres with more than my share of hedge on it, if you run low.

You got to take the thorny black locust too though.   >:D

Thanks WoodMOJoe , This hedge is some fine firewood for sure. But that thorny locust is a mess around here.

I have seen tanks on craigslist. usually around 1.00 per gal. I have a neighbor that owns a pipe yard & he has lots of propane tanks.
Before I cut into mine I took all the fittings out of the top & filled it with water & dawn dish soap. I let the water run over when I made my first cut. kind of messy but it worked. Just be very cautious with it.

Yes there is a tee about 10" back that connects the two pipes.
