E-Classic 1400 - door gasket
« on: October 30, 2014, 03:40:54 AM »

Hi all;  I was just wondering when I should change the fire door, reaction chamber chamber, or by-pass door gaskets on my OWB?  I'm going on my 4th season with the original gaskets.  Everything seems to be running just fine.  So, do I install a new one to be on the safe side or leave well enough alone?  I'm seriously thinking of purchasing a new one to have on hand for the "just in case" scenario.  What do you E-Classic owners recommend?  Thanks, Roger

I would definitely change the door gasket cheap cost and you want a tight seal on the door. From what I have seen the others seam to hold up pretty good

Roger,

I changed mine the 2nd year in because they had a new design. Was cheap and easy!

This will be the third year with that one.

Have you started your boiler yet? Me no , almost did today, but going to wait another week.

Dan - I did not know CB had a new design.  I'll have to call my dealer and see what he says.  I have begun ordering replacement parts for the time when parts decide to go to heck on me I'll have them on hand and limit the down time.  So far I've ordered one unit and that's a replacement solenoid.  Next will be the blower and then the replacement cartridge for the Taco 009-F5 circ pump.

I fired mine up a week ago today.  It's been running ever since.  It's so nice not hearing the oil burner running.  Roger
