I use the "hay rack" system also. In my area you can buy old wagon running gears for practically nothing and sometimes people give them to me. I use beams from old barns for stringers and old hog crate flooring for the floor and build a "wood rack". I load them right off the splitter and let them sit in the sun and wind until winter when I back them in the pole shed until I need them. Works great!

Congrats Oaky. I purchased mine 3/13 from Luke in Eagle Lake Mn. Will be picking it up in the next 2 or three weeks. I will be busy cutting wood until then. Got a lot of work to do before next winter!

Thanks, Crow. I see you have the same unit as what I just bought. Any suggestions I need to know?

Equipment / Re: Gasoline preference?

I use 91 octane non-ethanol gas in all my small engines, both 2 and 4 stroke. When fall gets here I fuel the lawn mowers, motorcycles and any other engines that won't be used for a few months with av gas. I don't have carb issues any more since I started doing this.

Coyote, Luke is a great guy, fun to talk to and work with. Glad I found this site, P&M and Luke.
I have a good friend in Illinois that has been running a Heatmaster 10000(I think it's a 10000) for 3 years now and is happy with it. He runs it year round to heat his house, shop, DHW and in the summer his swimming pool.
I decided on the P&M because, to me, it seems to be built with more attention to detail and the design of the BL series. I didn't want to go with a gasser for my first boiler because of what I understand to be a "learning curve"(read that as"I'm a little slow")haha.
I read in another post you're from Mo. I'm in Iowa, just west of Des Moines. If you decide on a P&M in the next 3 weeks I could pick up your's when I get mine and save you some miles and or freight.

Newby here but been lurking for months. Since you're offering all this free stuff I had to become a member. 8)
Bought a BL 2840 yesterday from Luke in Eagle Lake, Mn. I had not seen or heard of P&M until I found this website. I had looked at Natures Comfort, Central Boiler, Heatmaster and Shaver, all sold and in use in my area of Iowa. After finding this site, I called P&M and talked to Robert several times and found him very helpful about the boiler and he found an owner about 50 miles from me who let me come look at his set-up. The next day I found an ad for Southern P&M in MN., met up with him at a farm show and bought the boiler. He has it on hand and I will be picking it up in 2 or 3 weeks.
Now the issue of figuring out all the stuff I need to install it :-\
