I went and looked at the 175 and I like it but the only thing is it looked like it would be hard to fill all the way up with wood. I liked the 250 looked eazy to load I just don't know if I would ever ha 6000 ft for it to heat. I know this would be hard to get a answer four but how much wood did y'all use last year? The reason why I ask is bc the dealer I talked to said he used a log truckload of wood last winter with a 175 and to me that seemed a lot for no colder it got this past winter?

Earth Outdoor Wood Furnaces / thinking about buy one
« on: May 09, 2012, 06:48:04 PM »
I was looking at a wood master untill i found out the price.  I understand u get what u pay for most of the time but shurly they cant b a hole lot of differnce between them.  So i was looking at the earth outdoors and i was wondering if anyone has one that could share some info.  I have a 1200 sqft home and wona heat water wondering what size would b the best.  I liked the hole ash pan but the doors seem alitte small so i would prob get one without one.  But any info would help.

yea thats what im leaning towards more is the wood master.  For one thers a dealer close by and another ive herd a few bad things abt the thickness of the fire boxs as far as losing heat.  But the wood master doesnt have a real big water chamber and i aslo herd that would hurt you.  The wood master doesnt have a ash box i also herd that when the ashes sits in your fire box it acts kinda like insalation. Like i said im new to them i dnt no nothing but what ive herd so im nt saying any of thats true. :)

I am new to the owb's and i have been looking at buying one for the simple fact theres no way i can pay the high gas prices any more.  My only prob is i cant figer out witch one would be the best for me.  I think i have narrowed it down to earth or wood master the only thing that worrys me abt earth is the thickness of the fire box.  I was just wondering if anybody had some advice?
