Got an email today from urecon/logstor and the insulated pipe they provide us took a considerable hike in price. 

We have retailed it at $12. 90/ft for a good while.  With the recent price increase it looks like our new retail is going to be somewhere in the $14.25 - $14.75 range.

Seems like everyone is going to take advantage of the huge rush in business that is occurring due to epa rulings.

I'm not saying that's for sure the case, but it was my initial thoughts.

Last Monday, same day we got the letter

U may find it at old prices if a dealer had some already stocked, but I seriously doubt it, it only comes in 567 foot rolls so as u can imagine we don't keep many of those laying around

Slim, when was the last time you had an increase from logstor? Around here it seems as if most manufacturers of everything from farm equipment to whatever are trying to keep prices at the same price for as long as they can hoping to retain market share in a poor economy. Suppliers of raw inputs are already in tight margins so anytime they get an increase they have to move prices up right away. I'm in the housing industry and most of our contractors haven't had an increase in rates paid to them in around 4 years. They are slowly going broke because the cost of everything else keeps going up, fuel, insurance, trucks, tools etc. and their rates are staying the same. There's a huge difference in being busy and making payments to being busy and putting money in the bank. Like the old saying "no use working for free, I can go broke sitting at home".

Effects farmers as well. Priced out 8 tires for our 400hp four wheel drive. 8 new radials will cost half of what we paid for it 20 years ago.

Of course two there is always the if people are still buying it, we can raise prices again equation as well.

With the increased cost of fuel, rent, seed, fertilizer, etc. $4/bushel corn now is the same as $2/bushel corn years ago.

What did it used to sell for before the price increases?

I have not seen anything directly from Logstor about price increases but for the most part the last few years I have been buying through Brian as he gets a volume discount that I could not get myself.

They didn't send it direct to me either, it was just forwarded to me from my supplier
