I been resreaching owbs for 6 months now and found this site here couple months ago .. ive narrowed it down to 3 owb's... Heat master mf5000 .. Central classic 5360 and Natures comfort ncb 250... They are having a Southern Farm Equipment fair at Reliegh NC fairgrounds feb 6 and Central dealer will be there.... My biggest concern is im haveing to run lines outside 100 feet and at least another 50 feet inside.... How much is that going to cost?
The cost of the pipe depends on what you go with. It ranges in price from around $4 per foot to over $20. Unless you need it insulated inside, it is about a 3rd the price for that.

For Sale / Leaky boiler forsale Royall $1500
« on: January 23, 2011, 11:12:24 PM »
Used Royall  boiler. It is a 304 stainless model. Not sure what the model number of it is. It was a leak outside the firebox at a weld. Should be an easy fix. It will need some of the insulation replaced and the draft blower and solenoid are dead, Aquastat probably too. It is located in south central Wisconsin. I can sell you replacement parts at cost. (I am a Nature's Comfort dealer)

Has anyone tried this: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/NOMACO-KFLEX-Insulation-Sheet-4VZR7?Pid=search
It looks like it would work pretty good and be real easy to install. The price is the only thing that has kept me from trying it yet.
These look about the same but aren't self adhesive. I might give one of them a try.

I have a Watts with the straight red handles. It is holding up very good. Takes some muscles on 1" though ;D
I don't think I would trust an off brand Chinese one. Especially if they are anything like those clamps they make. I bought a bag off ebay and as soon as I saw that spot weld on them I sent them back.

I have had real good luck with the white teflon paste. I work a layer of it into the threads real good and also use teflon tape over the top of it. (if you use too much paste the tape will just push off as you screw it in)

I have had one running for about 4 or 5 years. I used a gas Whirlpool. An electric one would work but would require some rewiring especially if you don't want to have to run it on 220v.
A normal dryer uses about 17,000 BTU. (5KW electric or gas around 23,000 btu @ 75% efficient)
