Title: Treatment solution 101G2. Anyone use it?
Post by: aarmga on April 14, 2017, 11:56:33 PM
Got info from RSI from a place that sells treatment local to me.  Anyone try this stuff before?  It is his newest line of treatment.  It comes with chemical indicator color and it colors the water pink and the slip of paper that comes with shows different shades of pink  indicating how much chemicals in the water. It's supposedly also has triple protection which coats of the steel with the steam of the water to protect the top of the boiler and also fight sludge and deposits plus a ph balancer.   Now I know most treatment does this but but I was wondering is if anyone has tried the stuff in general and if it is any good or did I just buy some snake oil?

I have never used the 101g2 but I would assume it is an improvement over the treatment 101. That is what Nature's Comfort used to use.

Pretty nice guy that owns the place.  Was only 20 minutes from my house.  It's very small, about the same size building as a one car garage.  When I paid him over the phone he had to "mix" the chemicals he said and told me where he hides his door key so I could pick up the treatment Saturday and I walked right in and took my box. Very trustworthy person.

I do like the fact that I won't need a nitrate test kit anymore, I can just use the color indicator now.

Doesn’t NC need a yearly water test to honor the warranty?

Yes but I'm not even going to bother with the warranty.  It's about as worthless as it comes.  I can't burn wood wetter than 30% moisture or something like that or it will void the warranty.  That right there is a red flag for me,  already been voided. I work with certified welders and they would be happy to come help me out if needs be.  Plus I got my unit for so cheap through the factory trying to push out all the conventional boilers before the EPA law set in that if it only lasts 10 years than so be it.  I wouldn't mind having a nice gasser in the future anyhow.

Plus I have emailed them in the past about sending in water tests and basically they blew it off as pretty much saying whatever do it if u want.  They were excellent to work with when it came to buying and shipping my stove and they even customized it for me.  After the fact I'm just another joe blow they sold a stove to that knows nothing and will ruin the stove by burning garbage and wet wood.
