Central Boiler / New to Wood boiler

I have never owned an OWB but grew up on a wood stove in our home. I am about to purchase a CB 5036 this week and my neighbor just installed a Shaver 165. He ordered in Feb. this year and just got it this week. My concern is that the Cb 5036 has no ash box....he keeps telling me not to get it, that the 5036 will be alot of trouble cleaning out the ashes. I like the 5036 because it is well made people here mainly have Hardys but just wanted the CB owners input.
How much trouble is it to clean the ashes out of the 5036 and should I be concerned that it does not have an ash box?
