Equipment / Re: Chippers

This might be a not so smart question but are there any chippers where I could put pallet wood through along with other firewood for the same reason (Biomass furnace)

I cannot give you feed back but from all my looking (online & farm shows) I would seriously look at the G2 plus or G3 unit.I am looking to get one when I build my new house and unless things change now that Polar is owned by Portage& Main I will have a unit in my garage when I move in.

Portage & Main / Re: PUTTING A STRUCTURE AROUND A PORTAGE AND MAIN 2840

I have been looking at that unit myself and from what I am reading and being told they are not good if enclosed real tight. I am told they smoke a bunch when the door is opened and I have heard if in a building best to put a exhaust fan in the wall to push the smoke out..I will be in the same boat as you with the wind & snow so am thinking of perhaps a car port with tarps on the sides if not wanting to close in the walls.

I was at the Outdoor farm show last week and when I stopped at the Portage & main booth there was a Polar gasser unit there. I was told the Portage & main bought Polar in March/April time frame and it is now one company.

I have not bought a unit yet since I am looking to build a new house next year and want to put a unit into my Garage. I was at the Outdoor farm show last week and found out that Polar was sold to Portage & Main in March did you hear that?

I hear many saying you will burn 40-60% less wood with a gasser so my answer is Yes. After all if you have to burn less but have plenty sell the rest and pay the unit off quicker..

Thank you for that information. How much wood do you use in a season? Here where I live in Ontario we also have Poplar for the most part and some Birch our farm has a 2acre bush with some Maple trees but that is all. I have been cutting and burning Poplar for many years now and agree the stove has alot to do with things.
