New member here.  Just wanted to add that i have been a very satisfied Johnson owner for 6 winters.  Little John heating a 3,800 sqft older home with a hydronic system.  I hooked up the heat exchanger as a zone to the existing oil boiler in the basement.  Took a season to get used to the differnt way the house heats up, but compared to paying for on average 1800 gallons of oil a year....  I put in a swimming pool with the savings.
I don't own a wood lot, but have been very succesful scrounging for wood during the year.  Mostly I burn pallets that i get from a couple of sources.  they are always well seasoned and mostly oak.  Burning pallets rarely smoke.  If I could do it all over again, I would buy a Johnson again!  easy to clean out the ashes, easy to stoke,  ;D
