Title: 12 Year Old Shaver
Post by: animalspooker on October 14, 2019, 04:31:45 PM
I have an older model Shaver, but do not know the model off hand.  I am in the process of reinsulating and 'caulking' it, but was not happy with what we used last time, and now I'm looking for a new insulation.  The foam board is very appealing, the one I'm looking at had an R-10 rating, and I think it would be very easy to use.

I'm new to the website, and would sincerely appreciate any 'good' advice.  Please help me!  I need insulation and heat resistant caulk.

Also, I don't need to 'caulk' around the stovepipe huh?  Don't I lose a lot of heat our that gap?

I would caulk around the chimney, if rain gets down there it'll rust the water jacket.
Whatever insulation you use I'd test it for flammability with a small torch.
