I don't have a problem with eiether one,  Phin...it's your thang, do what you wanna do...I can't tell 'ya, who to sock it to!!...keep up the good work....things will pick up here when the weather cools. At least us OWB users are not scoffed at here like on other sites....mfm

Do a complete heat loss for your house. Slant Fin (www.slantfin.com) and other sites have software to do this with...check also on heatinghelp.com.... a word to the wise: NEVER let an OWB dealer sell you a boiler based on how many S.F. you have. Too many variables. And keep in mind also that a OWB does not have a constant BTU output, nor does any other woodburning appliance.

Yes, I ran 12/2 UF to feed the whole boiler. I'm putting a separate disconnect switch on the woodshed near the boiler. Future add-ons..Plastic box to house a timer and bypass for timer, want to run the circs periodically to keep the water circulated and prevent stagnation.

NEC does not specifically address wood boilers, but it is not a bad idea to install a ground rod for lightning protection, especially if it is sitting out on an open area.

Not concerned about having it up and running right now...need to install the BB, piping, etc.  in the house, air handler/hydro-coil in the shop...will git-r-done, got plenty of time before fall.
