Leaving stove drained for year
« on: October 09, 2015, 09:10:13 PM »

Would it be OK to drain my stove, flush lines and leave empty for the winter or would corrosion be more likely.  Any good options?  Thanks

In my opinion leaving any stove drained for a prolonged time after it has been put into service is not a great idea, could you wait to drain it until just before freeze up and refill it after the spring thaw? Also getting a light coat of oil on anything that you can that is exposed to heat or water will help protect it.
