if your chimney is partially blocked and needs cleaning it will blow smoke from the door

you can make yourself with a couple regular valves 3/8 or 1/4 inch and use the clear rubber hose instead of glass (like the drain hose for a/c)...its cheap and works great and that hose is replaceble if for some reason you need to replace it.
one valve to fill with water and one valve to drain the water after you checked the level (so it wont freeze)

have done some pipe welding before so i had the guts to do it....
3 passes and it was all good ....
my first plan was to make it pressurized boiler thats why i tested it higher...
bought the expansion tank pressure relief valve make up water automatic water fill air seperator ...
the whole shabang for pressuirized boiler but after reading a lot on this site i decided the pros for pressurized is not worth it since non pressurized works just fine.

built my homemade out of propane tanks 2 years ago....
tested mine to 60 psi air...then checked with soap and for bubles ,all good left overnight to be sure all good .sprayed all welds with black antirust paint and played around with the air that was in the tank (tried shooting stuff, that thing hold a LOT of air).
hard to check for leaks with water in the summer because condensation unless your patient or filling it with warm water.

you plan to extend the chimney height 3' beyond any other vents or fresh air on the roof?
i think its code that that chimney will be 3 foot above any vents that is withing 10 foot around it...

OH MAN   O0 O0

LOOKS LIKE CENTRAL BOILER  IS KICKING EVERYONE ELSE IN SELLING BOILERS LATELY!!!!
ALL WE HEAR LATELY IS PEOPLE BUYING CENTRAL BOILER....IN MY OPINION THEY PROVED THEMSELF
IF I WOULDNT BUILD MINE 2 YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE GOT ONE OF THEM TOO.

it will acually be cheaper to do water around the firebox cause you can keep the same design you have in your head just without the copper cost and the pressurized system you will need to run for the copper wrap (you will need air seperator make up water backflow preventer and bladder tank for pressurized).
but you need welding skills to go the cheap way (water filled stove)

easy!
put a damper on the intake side (made out of round sheet metal and solenoid) to shut the air going into the blower and this damper wont be getting dirty or getting stuck,or you can just put the blower in a box just like willie did....i know he has some pictures of it.

if it was me i would drain the boiler then hook up air compressor to the line to blow all the rest of the water from the underground water and then double check all the power to the boiler and pumps are off.

WoodMaster / Re: WOODMASTER 4400 OVER BOILING & USING WATER
« on: November 25, 2010, 04:44:48 PM »
i agree with willie

it happens to me sometime when i use hardwood and get a really nice coal bed and the burn chamber gets really hot and the steel will hold that heat and thats why it can keep raising the water temp even after the fan shuts down.
my burn box is 3/8 inch thick by the way , homemade.
its just great experience to build one yourself and you get to know everything about the stove inside and out strongest point and weakest point.this thing is make me so proud everyday i dont use propane and every single log i feed it i thank god for for blessing me to be able to build it!
jackel take your time with your build it looks great dont rush it.
i enjoyed building mine so much i want to build another one just for the heck of it :bag:

thats why there is a trade for pipe fitting pipe welding
how many psi are you putting on it>?
and did you did 3 passes on the welds?

thanks for the response.

hi
i built my homemade boiler and this will be my first year.
i fired it up yesterday it ran nice all night too but the next day last time it ran the blower was about 10 am
and by 2pm the fire died.
its about 57 degrees now and the house still on 75 degrees, the house blower hasnt ran since 10 am and i dont heat my domestic water so there was no call for heat and the boiler temp was at 177 and now about 165.
how long will yours stay live without the boiler blower or damper open?
maybe its just not cold enough but at night its in mid 30.
thank.
i burn pine that is cut in spring.
