Dealer in Central Ohio
« on: February 05, 2015, 07:00:48 AM »

Anyone know of a dealer in Central Ohio with EXCELLENT customer service? Considering buying OWB. Spoke to a dealer from Heatmaster and was impressed. I would like to speak with a dealer from CB with excellent customer service.

Did you mean to say that you weren't impressed with the Heatmaster dealer?  If you were impressed then I'm just curious why you are still searching for another dealer.  A good dealer can be very important.

I was impressed with the dealer but I'm concerned about the heatmaster being stainless steel.

Why is that?  There are many benefits to having a stainless steel furnace over a mild steel furnace.  What is your biggest concern?  You can almost take corrosion out of the equation with a stainless stove especially if you keep up on your water treatment.   Stainless has better heat tranferring properties than mild steel and less thermal expansion.  There are many companies out there that use stainless and don't have any issues.  I wouldn't let that scare you away.

Great! Thanks for the information. It's really good to talk with someone that has the product and has used it. I'll be calling the Heatmaster ss dealer!

I'm no expert, but I was told and I also researched before purchasing my furnace that mild steel has better heat transfer, is less prone to expansion/contraction and is a heck of a lot easier to work on if necessary.  If you take care of your furnace and don't burn trash, etc it will last just as long as stainless.

You can find a Central Boiler dealer by going to centralboiler.com and typing your zipcode into the dealer locator.

I guess my question is why wouldn't shop around and see what's out there first, instead of jumping right into it at the first dealer you spoke with.. Do your shopping and homework.. If the 1st dealer still impresses then go back to him

That's not necessarily what I meant.  If he has already done his research and decided he likes the features of Heatmaster stoves and is impressed with the dealer then I I'm not sure what else you can hope for.  That's a win win situation in my book.

He hasn't done  all of his research if he's asking for a central boiler dealer in his area

There is a Portage and Main dealer in the Ontario/Mansfield are that I bought mine from if your interested in looking that way.  The service was acceptable to me but I knew what I wanted.  Too bad the power show was last week, that would have been you best chance to compare makes and find dealers.

Stainless does not transfer heat better than mild steel but you are right with a lot of your post and heatmaster uses 409 stainless I believe which has the best heat transfer out of the different stainless steels. I would not be afraid of a heatmaster sitting in my yard or even a heatmor both great boilers.

I did go to the power show. Suprisingly there were only three dealers there. CB, which I never got to talk to, he was always busy, Heatmaster and Crown, spoke to both of them

Classic Comfort in Greenville, OH. They are good guys. I didn't get a stove from them, but I bought my underground Thermopex, Taco pump and misc pex fittings from them.

I agree Chicken. I already had my boiler, but bought Logster / fittings from them. David & Aaron are SUPER nice people. I recommend them to everyone I can.  Stay warm...
