Post by: ford tech on March 28, 2017, 09:42:16 AM
My 6048 is leaking black soot at the rear of stove some of it is running on the tin. This happens more when burning wetter wood. As any one else seen this ? My dads did this and the dealer put a double gasket at the chimney and seemed to fix his.

Sounds like condensation. I'm not sure how the CB chimney attaches but I can see how it might drip if it sweated with the horizontal exit.
Just curious, what kind if gasket does it use?

Take the cover of and look to make sure there's no water leaking or running down the stack.. I burn slot of green wood and I never had any thing running out the stack. I did have it running out the door a few time . I fixed that by keeping the wood Back from the door .I was pulling the wood to the from and where the cold vs hot air it causes the condensation to find a way out
