Bending and installation of PEX-Flex
« on: August 19, 2011, 06:37:48 PM »

Hi all. I am working on installation of my Portage and Main Ml30. I got my hands on Pexflex for the first time today, and could not believe how stiff it is. How do you bend this stuff? I am at a loss here. Thanks Tony

i am not sure on the radius you can bend that stuff, the dealer should be able to tell you but i know if you lay it out beside your trench in the sun and let it get good and warm it will be easier to work with. I have heard of a 3 or foot radius for a 90 degree turn but don't hold me to that. It would be best to check with someone who installs the stuff and i am sure there are a few on this board that will come up with "the real answer"

good luck with yoru project

My main concern is being able to bend it up into the underside of the stove.

It's not easy. Like mentioned above you will have to make a long radius turn. Actually two. A wide sweep and then go deeper to swing up to the stove. It may take two people.

Once mine was in place I put a stake in and tied it off until the hole was backfilled.

Good luck!
