FINALLY!!! Fire & Heat
« on: December 12, 2014, 04:46:25 PM »

After 2 1/2 months of work on this OWB, we have fire and heat!!!  My wife of 35 years just told me to turn the thermostat down-words to my ears.  I want to specifically thank SlimJim and ALL of the Ridgewood owners who helped answer all of my questions and concerns.  You all have my debt of gratitude that I will never be able to repay..............vpm

Congratulations!  Enjoy the heat without hearing the oil/propane burner running.  No doubt you'll run into some speed bumps along the way so don't be afraid to ask for help.  I've been heating my home going on my 4th season and I still ask questions if not for clarity of an issue but for confirmation that I'm on the right track.  Roger

This folks on this site are nothing short of awesome.  We were able to leave our farm yesterday for 8 hours and not to have to come home to a cold home and immediately have to build two fires in both of the fireplaces was unbelievable.  We literally walked into a warm home and took a HOT shower.  Words can't describe how happy we are.  It took me much too long to finish the project, but I certainly learned a lot on the journey.  Thank you again to all of you, I really don't think I could have done it without your guidance.  Cheryl and I wish each of you a blessed Christmas and good fortune for the new year.  Blessed be God forever..................vpm

I am in the same boat was heating with space heaters last year because of the price of propane and early this winter now everything is up and running. It's just a great feeling! Last year the house would be at 66 maybe hit 68 on a sunny day and we never heated the basement so it was in the 40's now with the radiant slab heat down there its 72 and the furnace upstairs is set at 72 I love it!
