Anyway i just want people to know that empyre does NOT stand behind their product and they just hide behind warranty rules that don't apply.
I have a small business and stand behind my product. When i realize i screw up i fix the problem at my own expense so does a lot of other business owners.
EMPYRE MEANS NO WARRANTY
And that's exactly why you'll stay a small business, notice how many big companies run wild then go bankrupt and reopen under new name doing same thing. We had a builder do this here for 98.2 million, less than a year later he was back developing and building again. Unfortunately his multimillion dollar bankruptcy killed 31 of our communities biggest contractors and suppliers. Vacant buildings no jobs and lots of people left.
I think you are beating a dead horse now, there are much better ways to spread your story and in a much more credible way. Your not alone with an Empyre horror story, there's lots out there and from what I've read, you got off REAL lucky with just a stat. If I were you I think I would post detailed pics of your problem and the solution to help others prevent another story like yours. I think its best to help keep these boilers in top shape and helping others is the only way to do that. Coming up with ideas and contributing will get you more Milage and help other owners too.
I hope for ec33's sake he never has a problem like many others have. Looks like he's got a great thing going with some sweet toys too. I like all the pics, and yes he has to clean up dat der pex. Mount that stuff to some nice plywood and label......hahahaa you don't hear a lot of good stories like his,cuz the net is about a lot of whiners and complainers , when they have problems. Not many go out of their way to post up how great everything is, so thanks for the good thread ecc33. Keep the pics coming, can never have enough.
I explained and detailed my problem if you would have take time to read from previous post.
again all i'm saying is if you buy an empyre product, and there is a legitimate defect with the furnace, they won't backup their products.
like you said there is lots of empyre horror story and i just want to let people know.
as per personal attack on small business owner, this has nothing to do with this.(cheap shot). Not gentlemen at all.
farmers help put food on your table and you should appreciate the fact .
Coming here and insulting me having a small business and as for whiners, saying the truth has nothing to do with it.
your comments are just a personal attack, but don't worry, people can read between the lines.

Slim, again from a previous post, i tried and explain the problem on the phone to their warranty department(sharon). it is much easier to explain and detailed the problem on the phone, all she said after my story was the line that she feels as a consumer and it's got nothing to do with profab it's electronics 1 year blablabla and then the phone hang up but not from my side.
I never was angry or using bad language. when there is no way to make someone consider her decision then i assume that she showed her true color.
honestly i don't think my furnace is all that bad other than the defect about not being i would say "snow tight".
that they basically tell me that if snow get behind the aquastat is an eletronic problem i don't bite it and never will.

yes honda, i did . like i said before, after reading in a forum that someone had the same problem as me and what he did was to caulk the plate where the thermostat sits,so this is what i did and told my dealer and thought problem fix. But when it happen the second time this is when i notice that it really came from the roof line.As for the aquastat it came straight from the dealer so i don't know where he got it but it was exactly the same one.
honestly, the unit is has a few flaws in term of tightness, when you bend down and look at those grove under the roof line, there is lots space ,1/2 inch and up in some instance. .
As a consumer i'm entitle to my opinion. I defend what i know is right and never step on anybody's toes.
when i buy a good product i let my friend know and vice versa.
when i buy a bad product and i feel i'm being ripped off, i let them know and my friend do the same.
to me honor and respect is more important than money.
Very disappointing when you see that the manufacturer does not want to admit there is a defect.

When i told my dealer what happen the first time back in feb 2013, he gave a new thermostat and said he's gonna let me know if profab will honour their product. Never heard nothing from him till this nov 2013 when his wife told me he passed away(god bless his soul) and that i had to pay for the thermostat. Profab was notify by my dealer and denied any responsibilities. I didn't even talk with them after the first time only my dealer did. So the way i approach this is with truth and honesty. After i talk to the warranty department at profab 2 weeks ago and explain the issue i was told they feel for me because they are consumer as well but they are not gonna honor their product.

About the back tubes, i welded a brush on a steel rod for the straight flue and use a power drill on the flexible rod for the vertical one takes about 10 min.

there is a defect with the unit and they won't honor their warranty.

at this point, you have not understand yet, that the problem is not the thermostat, but a defect in the way the unit is designed?
you stick again on the one yr warranty. On that subject (which is totally irrelevant to this problem) the note was that for one day, anyway, that says it all....
But, if you want to reply in a smart way, understand the problem clearly:
The way the unit is built, cause the snow to get in behind the control, which cause to the thermostat to fry. The solution: fix the problem in the design of the unit. No snow behind the control, no more fried thermostat (then you do not need to waste anymore time arguing for nothing about the warranty on the thermostat (oops, did I forget to mention the issue is not a defect in the thermostat)?
Simply put, the design of the unit cause the problem!

p.s Why would love control pay for a defect in the furnace? The problem is NOT the thermostat.
P.S.2 "Better be not 31 days"? Do they get so many claims that they cannot wait for that extra day to say no!!!
just beware people they don't stand behind their product.

I have been promised lots of things when buying something before, we'll do this,we'll do that.but once you buy the product you realize they are not true to their word. some of you are dealers and salesmen and everyone knows when promised good warranty and service it's not always there.
there was nothing wrong with that thermostat.
It broke because of a defect in the unit.
The unit is not properly sealed and this is what keeps frying the thermostat.
It clearly state on the unit "outside wood furnace" , you should expect you can keep it OUTSIDE.
empyre is hiding behind the 1 year warranty on electronics components when it's not the issue. THE DEFECT OF THE UNIT IS THE PROBLEM.
Anyway i just want people to know that empyre does NOT stand behind their product and they just hide behind warranty rules that don't apply.

Now you're making me nervous even more, one brand new unit that leaks already and they agreed to replace another without knowing for sure it's leaking, basically you're telling me i can expect my unit to leak anytime, thanks. so you're telling me they are no good, i know that now especially when it comes time to honour your name. Yeah right , they are gonna replace a brand new unit without knowing for sure it's leaking but they won't replace a $100 thermostat on my furnace that got damaged by snow getting in the top corner twice already. Really i know you're not telling the truth, even my dealer told me that they don't cover anything and to replace a unit without making sure it leaks(between 9k to10k) yeah right. As for replacing the unit, hahaha, they will try to weld it first i can assure you of that.
nice try.

they are no good
I have a pro 200 and i used to like it until i had a problem i found out that their warranty sucks.
It started last year after a big snow storm(windy), snow got behind the thermostat, and cause to malfunction(fan would not stop anymore which makes the temperature go up
but lucky i was close by. notify my dealer who sells me a new unit and he tells me he will let head office know if i can get warranty. After reading in one of those forum that someone had problem with the plate where the thermostat is and what he did was to caulk it and sothat's what i did and taught problem solved. thissummer isaw my dealer
and he told that after 1year my warranty is already out for electronics components. even if there was a defect with the unit. thanks.
last saturday we had a major good snow storm here in ontario, guess what same thing snow got in again. i really though it was from the thermostat platethat i caulked but i was wrong. It's from the top corner just under the gable kind of roof there is about 1/2 inch space there and enough room with high wind and lots of snow fall to end up there.
had to replace thermostat again
talk to empyre today they won't do a thing.
