According to Sharkbite's competitor, they are not replaceable. http://www.probite.com/literature/sharkbite_vs_probite.pdf

I would try to remove one and take it to the automotive parts store to match it up , they will have a large selection to choose from, remember that you will probably void any warranty by changing the o rings but hey what could possibly go wrong.

thanks guys, yes I talked to the people at Shark-bite and they told me the same, if the o-ring was damaged they aren't  replaceable. I think the guy's jaw dropped when I told him I had them out. any way I was able to get them through special order through a company we dealt with through work,( motion industries ). you will not find them in any part stores, you will find the diameter but not the thickness. in other words they are kind of a bastard, but they can be replaced,i don't care what Shark-bite says. also they are 100% made in Australia so they are probably metric in size.
thanks jim

Do you have a part number for the o-ring you got?

the part# is H4X28 for the 1in.,,, description of o-ring is 4x28 buna 70 metric o-ring. I believe Motion Industries got them from APG Ohio 1-800-883-7457.. being these were a special order I had to order 50 of them, still less then the cost of 1 fitting. I did get them relatively cheap. I only used 6 of them so if someone needs a few of the 1in o-ring for the shark-bite fitting I will pass the savings on to you. e-mail gets my attention.
by the way the one I had leaking was my fault, I pinched it during install 3 years ago, late last burning season it decided to start dripping when I shut the flow of hot water off during warm days , then seal itself when I would turn the pump on in the late evening.
the 3/4in. o-ring  is close enough you can find it in any good parts store, but not the 1in. jim
