Title: Does the HE 5000 qualify for the tax credit?
Post by: oldchenowth on December 29, 2010, 05:19:05 PM
I bought my 5000 mainly for the size of my house with the added benefit of taking $1500 of Obama money.  As time goes on and the more Iread the mre I think that mine DOES NOT qualify.  Looks as if I needed to buy the 8000.  Any input from anyone?  What needs to be submitted for the credit ?
Is there a form?  What does qualify? I am guessing 75% efficient.  Is the 5000  considered 75%+ efficient?  How do I find out?  Don't get me wrong, I really like my 5000.  Minimal smoke, easy to clean out, four or five face cord this season thus far.  I would just like to squeeze $1500 more of efficiency out of it,  Any help before April 15 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

To qualify you need a letter signed by the owner of the company that manufactured your furnace. The letter needs to state that the furnace has been tested and passed the efficiency rating that is required to receive the $1500 credit. If you didn't receive that paper work then your furnace doesn't qualify.

The HE5000 does qualify for the tax credit.
It has been tested to HPA phase 2
I have signed a form for it.

PS  With all the confusion and stress last fall I never got the form out to you.
It will also be on our website soon.

Many of the things said on the internet were true.
We were way behind in deliveries all summer, mostly because they were not available.
When we crashed there were some undelivered furnaces.  They will be delivered soon.

PS  There are still a few people that have not received their furnace.
These orders will be taken care of.  They will receive a furnace.  It will be a better one.

Wood Doctor will be back and will be honoring warranties.

THERE IS AN ANSWER TO THIS STEADY FAILURE OF FURNACES IN OUR INDUSTRY.
The answer will be on our website by May 1, 2012.
