Husky 21 ton log splitter
« on: September 16, 2019, 05:02:54 PM »

Engine seized a year ago and plan to swap out the engine. I plan to use a Harbor Freight - Predator 5.5 HP vertical shaft. Is there anything special about a log splitter engine that I need to know? Is there anything different about a splitter engine and a lawnmower engine?

Shouldn’t be any major differences as long as the bolt patterns are the same for the pump mount

If the replacement engine is lawn mower specific it may have a tapered shaft.
