Title: how to winterize your out door woodburner
Post by: lillyhopper on December 18, 2010, 07:31:43 AM
we have a woodmaster 4400. We have to leave for several months this winter and need to winterize the stove. Our dealer has gone out of business so can't ask him. Has anyone done this and will you share the process with us?

I guess the two options I can think of are draining the system or adding enough antifreeze. The antifreeze is very expensive so if it was me I would simply drain the furnace and cover the chimney.

if it was me i would drain the boiler then hook up air compressor to the line to blow all the rest of the water from the underground water and then double check all the power to the boiler and pumps are off.
