Need to buy a replacement induction motor
« on: November 04, 2013, 06:55:32 PM »

I have an induction motor going.  The info on it is:

Fasco
mod 71636058
type U63
Class A
p/n 880-0112
1600 rpm
cont. duty

The closest thing I could find is a Fasco D130.  But, they all say cw rotation.  My motor sits on the right side and rotates ccw.  I cannot find any with ccw.  Can I just switch the polarity to change rotation?

It is a Wood Doctor HE5000 gasser.  I am not married to Fasco brand if someone has a better motor.  PM me or post here, I just need one here in a few days.  Dealers and private welcome.

Thanks,
Rich

Did a quick research myself..Looks like the D130 is the new replacement model..If your original fan went ccw to suck air into the fire box..What would the difference if the new model goes cw to suck air into the firebox....There is no polarity on fasco fans (least the one on my boiler)..Hook up any which way the fan turns one way..Check out www.altheatsupply.com They carry Wood Doctor parts..Call the 888#

Mine is in the stack to pull smoke out.  It doesn't push air in.  I will try to upload a pic or two when I get off the road in a few days.

Got my new motor and it turns the correct direction.  As WillieG pointed out to me, I was looking at it from the wrong direction as I do with most things.  No wonder I can never remember a face and everything smells like ass. I am always at the wrong end of things.

Thanks for the direction guys, I am now back on track.

Something still stinks though
