New purchase!
« on: February 04, 2014, 05:19:27 PM »

I just pulled the trigger on a new MF5000 pick it up on friday. After having an electric bill for the month of january of 560.00 in northeast Mo. In a 1780 square foot house running the thermostat at 62 degrees just about makes a god loving man want to fight, or beat the hell out of someone. By the way this house was built in 2007 well insulated and the best windows money can buy. I guess i am just needing a good word that I am doing the right thing. At the time I am writing this post it is a blizzard out side and 17 degrees. I sure hope i am doing the right thing.     PS I hope to be installing this weekend or early next week.

Congrats on the purchase, I think you did the right thing! It's the kind of thing that pays back over time as you know but as time goes along you will not need encouragement anymore. It does come with some work also, if none of that bothers you then you are on the right track. Good luck!

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Heatmaster family! Definitely the right call taking it upon yourself to keep your family warm and putting money back in your pocket! This is a forum FULL of people who have made the same decision! I hit $720 last year and haven't gone higher than $150 this winter! Wood heat is an amazing thing!

Post some pics on here when you get set up! Happy burning!

Congradulations on your purchase!!! You will see a big difference in the heat and will love it. Months before I got mine hooked up bill was averaging or $800!! That was keeping the temp at 70 or below. Now keep the temp at 73!!!! Bill now is less than $150 a month. So you did a good thing and don't be afraid to ask questions lots of good people here that will help you out.

Your heat load is what your stove will be heating: square footage, insulation levels, domestic water, hot tub, forced air, boiler, propane, how far from the house. Just an overview of your set up!

Congratulations on your purchase.  You will not be sorry you purchased it.  I do not have the Heatmaster unit but from what I gather they are a quality built unit.  As others have said, if you have questions ask away.  Many very smart and knowledgeable folks on this site who are more than willing to share their secrets and advice with you.  Roger

You will find a lot of help on this sight. Im in the process of buying a unit also hope to have made a decision today. Im not in that $700.00 monthly range for heating cost think my is around  $400.00 to 450.00  hard for me to tell with propane. I use it to heat water as well as the house. I know I used approximately 1500 gal last year average of $2.00 a gal. Cost this winter has risen to over $5.00 per gal whats worst is being ration because of a shortage. Never going to be at their mercy again. From what I have read the Heatmaster is a excellent unit.
Im leaning toward a Empyre Cozeburn 450 it appears to be a god boiler. Havent seen much on this site about it would like some feed back from anyone using one. Good luck

I will be heating 1780 square ft. single story house built in 2007 6 inch walls filled full of bat insulation and I blew in over a foot of insulation on the attic ceilings. I have 19 of the best Anderson  windows money can buy. This house is all electric so I will also heat my domestic hot water. The unit will set approx. 90 feet from my house the pipe I purchased was the Raul (I think thats how you spell it) foam filled, cost 10 something a foot ( that hurt ) . I also have a 36x48x16 at the eves shed that someday I may heat.
