Title: Where is the anode rod on a 200 model??
Post by: OBXNC on November 05, 2009, 07:37:45 AM
I have been running my Heatmor for two winters, and really like it. I wanted to check the cathodic protection to see how much it corroded per the manual, but it doesn't say where it is, and I don't see it! I also have a question about the need for annual water treatment, and what's best to use, and why. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Finally noticed a picture in another section of the manual that shows the rod location. Still interestedin what annual water treatment you do, and why.....

I pulled my rod to check it last fall, and was surprised how corroded it was. I'm sure the rate was higher initially, until most of the oxygen in the water was consumed, but I still think it'll need to be replaced in a couple more years.

Doesn't anbody add any treatment to their water??

I added the treatment that my dealer gave me with purchase.  I think it's just basic boiler corrosion inhibitor.  I don't think there's anything really special about it.
