Still have a fire burning??
« on: April 02, 2010, 10:28:08 AM »

Last night I let the fire go out! It was 74 in the house and really did not need the heat on. May need to fire up a couple more time in the future if the wife get cold!!!  Was wondering if you guys try to keep the fire going up to temp or just restart the fire if you have a cold night or two??

I've let my fire go out for about 3 weeks or so now.  I did start it up every once in a while on cold days or when the house cooled down enough that we got the chills.  I haven't had a fire in there since March 26th now though and I think I'm done for the year.

I live on the western, middle edge of Wisconsin.

I still have my fire burning.  It has been 70 during the day but dropping down to 30s at night.  I am sure there are still some cold days to come plus it doesn't take much wood  to keep the boiler up to temp.

Still burning, but mostly for hot water. On these warm days I use the bypass valves that I installed to keep the hot water from the OWB from going through HX in the gas furnace, and using the sidearm only to heat water. Last year I did this until the first week of June.I think that I will do the same thing this year.
