HeatMaster / Re: Siemens controller

I had cleaned the plate in the off season but guess it got hung. I sprayed some ATF on it so hope no more issues. Was concerned it may be Siemens controller. Thanks for the info.

HeatMaster / Siemens controller

G200 ...3rd burning season
Anyone ever seen this??? went to load stove checked controller..... Stove calling for heat water temp at 159 & damper position at 7%....filled stove  came back 30 mins later siemens controller still at 7% & water temp lower. I cut power off and restarted and the controller took off & worked like it should. This is the second time this has happened it did same thing last year. It's like the controller is stuck and my guess it would never change from 7% and eventually the fire would go out. Might just be a fluke thing.

I thought that the stove pulled fresh air  in through the back door vent and pvc tube that surrounds the fan motor so if its 20 or 40  degrees outside it would be cool air wouldn't it? Looks like there should have been some mention of this in the Heatmaster owners manual. Good thing there is a web site like this with this info. I just don't wanna loose another fan motor. I had a Hardy stove 16 years and replaced the fan once! Sometimes in morning before work I have no choice but to load the stove in a burn cycle.  Again thanks for info.

So you're thinking that if I open the smoke bypass while the stove is in a full burn cycle the heat & flames are causing the fan motor to get too hot. I would think since the fan is pulling in fresh cool air that is going across the motor that would not be the case plus it should be blowing the flames up the flue and not toward the fan. But for now I'll take your advice and try to load the stove when it's not in a full burn cycle to get long life out of my new fan motor.  I am leaning more toward the lack of good quality of the Fasco motor but I'm no expert. Thanks for the advice.

My G200 has only been running in the cold months since Oct 2017 and my Fasco D219 fan already failed. I had to replace it with a new one. They sure don't make things like they use to. Hope new one last longer and yes I had cleaned the fan in the off season.

Yeah that's what I been doing...... if timer not adjustable I guess I'll keep on doing it that way

HeatMaster / Smoke bypass
« on: January 21, 2018, 02:08:25 PM »
I have a G200 with the siemens controller. With the door open and the smoke bypass lever pulled I have 5 minutes to have door open before the bypass fan cuts off. Is it possible to increase the 5 min timer as sometimes it takes me longer to dig around the ashes & fully load the firebox. I have tried to find the setting for this timer in the siemens controller but was unsuccessful.  Also I know I am listed as a newbie but I heated my home with a Hardy H2 for over 16 years. I still can't believe how well the G200 performs and NO SMOKE. Thanks for any help.

Plumbing / Unrolling 100 foot Pex
« on: November 16, 2017, 11:43:57 AM »
I found easy way to uncoil a long roll of pex pipe and keep it straight was to run hot water through it as you unroll it. I hooked it up to my water heater and a hose. I turned the thermostat up on water heater somewhat Just overbend it on ends and hold it in place works great!
