Title: Started the Wood Boiler
Post by: KevinSantelik on October 26, 2017, 07:04:55 AM
I wanted to thank everyone for this wonderful forum.

I purchased a Ridgewood 6000 2 years ago, and started it up last weekend 10/21/17.
I took me a little over a year of planning everything, from plumbing design, pump selection, boiler piping, shed design 16' x 24' etc.

This is the first time that I don't mind when my wife turns up the theromstat,  used to be set at 62 at night and 65 during the day, now I have it set for 70 at night and 72 during the day.  My garage has radiant piping that I plumbed in with the system and that is set at a very comfortable 68/65 degrees.

Again thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum.

I just want to echo what Kevin said In that our knowledge for boilers is needed more and more each day. Thanks to most on here we receive that without hesitation. I burned wood in a king stove fo years but I felt like II know nothing 3 years ago when I installed this boiler. There are times I know when you all feel your answering the same questions over and over but most of the time the situation is brand new to us and there are numerous folks out there who just want to know more about these great peices of equipment that save us tons money. Again thanks.

There are definatly lifesavers on the board.  I am in my fourth year, and had a couple boil over surprises.

Had quick replies, and got solutions to the cause.  There are good people here.

Kindred spirits when we are all feeling smug in our warm homes on a sub zero night.

Yup, I read for years on this and other forums as I was getting into installing OWB's. Very valuable resource. Thanks to those who have been on here for years.

Fired ours up this past Monday. Temps  are still mild here in Tennessee, good to get it going before it gets real cold.

We also have a Ridgewood, this is our fourth season
