Boilers will only be allowed to operate from Oct. 1 through April 30 per the town charter. I am hoping to average 4 cord a year of wood I buy, with a few cord of junk wood from around the house. I am getting way better mileage out of the log pile with my new thermostat setup.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Calling it good for the season

Shutting it down for the winter and turning on the mrcool heat pumps. I might put a fire in it if it gets super cold for to long just to keep it from freezing but calling it good with 2 cords of split left.

I got two cords left and looks like warmer weather for the weekend the heat pumps will be turned on then. Hopefully it will be a nice slow warm up this spring way to much snow on the ground for a bunch of big rains.

LOL this is turning in to facebook. I am just glad everyone is here whether it is a bustling forum still or not. I think a lot of the new stoves took care off many of the old problems. People got educated on some of the more common crap that happens.

That is cool jreimer.

Plumbing / Re: Sizing copper coil for storage

I know some people have used pex in storage tanks just cant find the link I had for it. It was not as efficient but quite a bit cheaper. I was researching for myself but I bought a different stove and did not really need it then. So I cut the front of my tank out and used it for wood storage by the front of the boiler.

Yes I can relate. I am using logstor but the difference was significant compared to the crap I was using. It paid for itself by the 2nd or 3rd year.

I can understand not liking February it is the crappiest month of the year I think. That is why they make it so short.

Yes that would be nice to be able to change them without taking the front panel off. I might mount a fuse panel near the motor this spring.

My fan was going on its 3rd year. bought a HVAC Motor,1/8 HP,3000 rpm,115V,3.3 DAYTON 3M292 off of ebay and it went right in no problems just a 2 1/2 hour learning curve in the dark. They even had the plug that reverses it the right direction. Hopefully it will last longer but ordered a new one right away just in case.

Yeah I am going to the store and try to find something this morning. Yeah the motor toasted can barely move it by hand glad I had a spare. But I woke up this morning and it was off, the red light flashing the temp down to 109, then I remembered I forgot to fill it. Went into panic mode when it quit working last night and forgot what I originally went out to do. Thanks for the quick responses everyone.

Gee, I could have sworn that I hooked up your boiler that way didn’t I?

You did slim and it saved plenty of time and aggravation because I did the inside connections and the connections to the old boiler and those took time and were aggravating. Never said I did it just explained how it was done but if you need credit for it then here is your credit for it.

HeatMaster / G200 fuse question
« on: January 19, 2019, 09:27:30 PM »
What type of fuses does the fan take on the g200. Fan burnt up and blew a fuse had to bypass fuse there are no spares in the box (they should give you a few someone mention that to the powers that be). Damn blizzard coming but it quit just before it got here but it quit in the dark of course. Anyway I dropped the fuse somewhere and cannot find it  :bash:  So if anyone has a idea what they are it would save me from have to take the control panel apart again it is not very user friendly. I know they are 2amp 250v but not sure the size or fast acting or slow.

Mine is done just like juddspaintballs said with heater hose. Works great you heat up the end a little slide it over the fitting and a clamp to hold it. Just like his picture shows it saved plenty of time and aggravation.
