spirovent leaking
« on: December 07, 2014, 09:40:22 AM »

I have one installed on my shop setup. Worked great until yesterday. For some reason water is shooting out where the air is supposed to come out. I was somehow able to get it to stop leaking yesterday, but no such luck today. Anyone else ever have issues with them and how did you fix it. Thanks

Probably has some crap under the valve, you should be able to remove the valve and clean it, sometimes a good whack with an adjustable wrench helps loosen up the crap.

Funny thing is, after the call for heat was done, I turned the water back on and it wasn't leaking. I think I'm going to pull the top off tomorrow and check it out. It also spit some water out the day I filled the system. I like to see how things work anyway. Lol

Do I need to worry about damaging the o ring when I open it up?

Probably a standard o-ring that can be had at a hardware store

Thanks for the info. We lost power for 6 hours last night and waiting for the temp to come up in here before I tear it apart. And of course it's not leaking at the moment
