It's been about 3 - 4 years on the 140 degrees. Changed the pump out. I checked temp going into exchanger and it read around 155. Pipes are 3+ feet down and wrapped with insulation. crawl space heated by heat coming off pex pipes.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Temps of air coming out of vents
« on: March 28, 2014, 09:59:36 AM »
I'm trying to see what everyone's temps are coming out of their vents. We have a Shaver - ~ 120 ft travel into our first exchanger and vent temp (located ~ 15 ft from furnace) is around 125 Degrees. In the past, we have had higher, like around 140 but can't quite figure out what the issue(s) are. Temp at furnace is set at 175 degrees.

Also, what is a good product to put in the water to eliminate scale build up without lowering water temp.

Thanks

Plumbing / Best pump?
« on: July 29, 2013, 10:12:11 AM »
Trying to find out the best pump to get. We are going from shaver stove to 1st exchanger (~100Ft and 1 turn into exchanger), then going from exchanger (another 90 turn) ~20 ft to second exchanger (one 90 in and one out) then ~ 100 ft back to stove. When we had our original pump on it, we had readings of 140 degree out of vents closest to first exchanger. Now with a different pump, first failed, we can only get 125, no matter what we do. We want to get a new pump to be able to get water back to wood stove.

Shaver Furnace / Re: I love my Shaver 290!!
« on: February 08, 2011, 08:35:13 AM »
Gotta ask, what is the blower modification? We just purchased the Shaver 290 and love it as well. Only thing, is that we are going thru wood.
Can someone give details and what/where we need to purchase components?

Also, when we had the blower wire ran to the second thermostat, eventually the fan would not shut off, except by throwing the breaker switch. Turning off at the therm, didnt do it.

That's how we had it set up, but it blew the circuit board.  :bash:Do you know which wires need to go from the original thermostat to the new one? Just the fan wire or is there more? Something about the compressor?

And all, thanks for the help. It's getting cold and are trying to put this thing to bed. This is the very last thing that has to be completed.

Thanks willie for your response, but we have two furnace units hooked to one pump on the owb, so our pump runs 24/7 and keeps the water hot at all times. Pex pipe runs in a series. We need to be able to have the new therm control the blower for the owb, but when the fire goes out, we want our original therm to kick in and kick on our "original" heat system.

We have just purchased a Shaver Furnace and trying to get the second thermostat hooked up. We have a electric furnace - heat pump - central air unit with a multi speed blower. The Shaver manual tells how to do a single speed blower but says to call a HVAC tech for blowers with more then one speed. They won't answer due to not setting up the unit. Please help. Thanks
