« on: March 22, 2009, 05:07:28 AM »

this must be the weather the dealers are referring to when they say 24 hour burns are normal.....32 at night...no nwind....and over 40 in the day

IT IS POSSABLE!!

Willy

Isn't springtime great. It keeps more of the wood in the shed and less in the stove. At this rate I will have some of this years wood for next year.

My stove's fire has been out for almost 2 days!  and the house is still at 72!  I love spring (minus the mud...)

Do you still load same as when it is cold? I have only been loading what I think it will take to last all night or day.

if you mean you load a smaller amount twice daily mike, i think that is a good way to do it
that is what i try and do also..unless i am going away or something..then i will load it up good and if i am home the next day i will just stir the ahses a few times to bring the coals that the big load of wood caused to the top so they can burn down better

there may be other ways  other folks  load but i find this way works for my stove

I fill mine clear full when I fill it.  Then just check on it/poke the wood around once or twice a day till it needs more.

I try to fill mine where it needs to be checked/filled every 12 hours. I watch 10-day forecast in order to plan filling amounts and ect..
