I have a extra Emerson Digital Aquastat on hand.  Can someone tell me how to wire it up for a backup to the existing one.  Thanks

I called technical support and they told me to reset it back to factory settings and then program it again.  I haven't done it yet as it is working fine now.
I saw on the Facebook page site where someone else had that problem with two different Emerson Aquastats.

Thanks for your info

Electronics / Aquastat did not turn fan off - Boil over
« on: December 09, 2016, 10:53:52 AM »
I know this has been asked before but I can't find the answer

My OWF has a Aquastat that turns a fan on/off and opens/closes the draft door.
I looked out the window and the OWF was running and steam was coming out of my OWF.
The Aquastat was suppose to turn the OWF off at 185 degrees.
It was at 200 degrees and still running
I got the temperature down and it now seems to be working fine.
What could have caused this?
What would have happened if I didn't catch it?
Thanks

Grinder or drill with a wire brush on it works after you burn it off with cardboard

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / This will get you thinking!!!

It has been determined that running your pump continuous is much better for your OWF.  With that being said, everybody looses heat when running pumps continuous when nothing is pulling off of the lines.  In other words, your heat in your house is off, you are not using your hot water, etc.  If you were to install a pump on your OWF that just pumps water from the top to  the bottom or vice versa continuous and you set your other pump to run on demand, wouldn't you save a lot of heat especially people that don't have very good insulated pipe.  Any comments are appreciated

Put it at least 50-75 feet away from the house and right next to your wood supply.  Just my opinion!

Fire Wood / Re: How much is lost when stacking a pile?

I'm thinking your 18 cords piled up will equal 9 - 11 cords when stacked tight.  There is a lot of air space in stacked wood
