Ticks
« on: July 03, 2015, 07:34:58 AM »

Does anyone have a natural tick treatment for dogs they would like to share. I have been using Frontline, but it doesn't work. We are finding fully encouraged ticks on them and the floor of the house daily. We also check them a couple times a day, dam things are terrible this year.

Guinea hens will take care of them for you, just let them loose!

We used frontline and it never seemed to work. We now use a pill called trifexis.  Give it to them once a month and it takes care of ticks, fleas and heartworm.  I think it's around $20 a month but we haven't had any problems since we started using it.  Ticks are terrible here this year too.  I've found several of them attached to me already.

Ticks bite me and promptly die 24 hours later.

I have something I use on our dogs but its off label so not exactly legal, costs about 30 bucks for an entire year for three dogs. Prevents heart worms and will take care of them as well if the dog already has them.

I’m just nasty is all. That and come summer I try to maintain a high BAC and they die of alcohol poisoning.
