I burn mostly ash. Its seasoned a year. I should get a moiusture meter that is a great idea. Im wondering if something is wrong with the bladder. I can fill till water flows out the top and the metal piece with the rope still sags down. The wood I burn seems to be dry to me but I should check it . I was thinking of trying to put in a baffle in the heat exchanger area. not sure though.

I had this problem as well, and my uncle who worked at heatmor when I bought the unit (I bought it through him at his cost :) ) put in a call to one of the bigshots at Heatmor.  He says due to poor quality of the technical writers of the manual people often fill the unit too fast, not allowing the bladder to properly fill.  If you fill it slowly, and let water come out the top during the time the bladder will fill properly.  I literally just did this 5 minutes before reading this thread and it worked.  my bladder is now full.  give that a try and see if it helps.

For some reason I cannot access this site at my work.  It tells me I have been banned and the ban is not set to expire.  Can anyone help me out with this?  There is a lot of good info on this site that I would like to be able to access during the day?

Thanks in advance

everyone above is correct.  I am actually in the middle of my install right now, I have the bottom of mine partially filled with sand.  Its not the best pic as it was getting dark and I didn't have a flash on my phone.  I'll try get a better pic later, and then one with the sand fully installed

ok, thanks

thanks.  I see where the line comes out of the ground and onto my slab.  it is about the size of coaxial cable.  Great tip on checking with a screwdriver.  the phone guy "estimated" it to be about 2 feet down.

you dont' think i'll have to cut/drill new holes for the pex?

12
that shouldn't be a problem then, i'm going to be digging the entire trench by hand!  go me!

I've had my utility lines marked, and right now it appears that I will have to cross a phone line to get my insulated pex to the house.  Does anyone have any tips or tricks for digging around utilities?

here is the furnace where the HX is going. I have to go down thru the floor, would i be better off running straight sticks of either copper or pex below the house (doublewide mobile home) to meet up with the insulated pex lines? I'm also somewhat concerned about getting the HX past the LP line on the right side of the picture....

scott, in your professional opinion, whats the probability of the sharkbites leaking?  would you reccomend them over sweating?  My local hardware store carries the sharkbite brand
