I had 5  18" Stihl chains left when I sold my stihl 270. Will they work on my husky 460. I would have to buy me a 18 " bar. That would be good in certain situations. Not sure if those chains will work on the 460.

I had a couple of sticks of hickory that were too long for my stove, so I got out my new 460 husky and it started on the first crank ever had that to happen on cold saw. These two logs were hard and around 12"
Thick. My saw eat through them very fast. I was very impressed. I didn't have to push, I just let the weight of the saw push it through. The 60 cc will do just fine with that 20" bar

Thanks Bondo for the great response. I'm an old man looking for an easier way to keep a pike of wood. I'm pretty excited to use my husky 460 for the first time. May try to find me a good but cheap limber either Stihl or husky. Any suggestions

I've cut a lot of wood the last year with my Stihl 270, around 30 cords. I'm looking forward to the 20 inch bar and chain on my new husky, and the 60cc engine. My new saw seems to be about the same weight. I hope it's as easy on gas as the Stihl was. It seemed I cut a lot of wood on a gallon with it.

Equipment / Husqvarna warranty
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:37:18 AM »
My kids and grandkids all pitched in and bought me the 460 rancher for Christmas. I'm wandering how I go about getting my warranty. It just arrived at my house by FedEx one day. I understand that Husqvarna has very good warranty. Any of you guys know how I get this set up? Also any of you who own this particular model tell me dos and dont's and features about the saw. I cranked it and it runs very good. Came with the 20 inch bar. I've been cutting all my wood with a Stihl ms270 up until I got this one. Sold my Stihl when I got it. Wandering how the two compare. I've got couple years worth of wood stacked and covered so I'm not cutting right now.

I really like the way that looks. It's only about 4 feet total from top of ground up to where it goes in to boiler.

Would be nice to pop off quick coupler on back of hydronic heater and pump roll up and put away. The same at the back of stove and other side of pump. Only turn the pump on when needed and easily drain system to keep from freezing when your not using. The reverse when you decide to work in the garage for a while.
Also thought about doing same in my swimming pool. It's about 50 ft from back of my stove. Run an insulated pipe on top of ground from pool pump to domestic port on back with same setup as water heater and same kind pipe back to pool jets. When pool gets warm, unhook, roll up pipe and store away. Hook lines back up at pool pump the normal way and your ready to go.
