heat exchanger
« on: March 16, 2014, 03:24:06 PM »

hi guys, my heat exchanger is located on rear of furnace,i have no known issues with this I think, however I would like it inside the furnace room, the guy that set up my furnace stated it had to go there because my furnace was lower then the house and it would be air locked if it went inside, what issues would I have because of this if any, my system has been up and running for two yrs, no hick ups yet ,works fine other then when both zones come at the same time my inside furnace temp gauge drops big time, outside temp stays on target tho, would the reason this occurs be the heat exchanger being outside....

No. it is just a loop and will make very little difference where it is located as long as you are able to purge all the air out of the loop, your problem I would suspect is one of 3 things, Heat exchanger to small, 2, heat exchanger plugging up, 3 circulator not constantly running so it takes time to get hot water to the home.
