still on the fence

I am still wondering if a blower would help my 5036 be more efficant. Im heat 3000 sf home with it and want to reduce my wood useage. I think the recovery time would be ruduced with the fan.

I've read a blower decreases recovery time but increases wood usage. I guess you need to judge whats more important to you.

I've tried a blower temporarily mounted to my 6048... I didn't like it.  It seemed to burn faster.  my fan was pretty forceful though...

I can see having it for burning wet wood, but I didn't like it on mine.

From what I have seen forced draft doesn't work very well on Central Boilers due to not be designed to have it.

my dealer is telling me they now make a baffle/damper for the 5036 and 6048 that reduces the amount of wood used.  I have been trying to find out if that proves to be true, but haven't had anyone respond to it yet.  I have ordered my 5036 with this damper so I will let you know once I have some exprerience with it.
