How can I tell if my circulator pump is on its way out?
« on: December 04, 2016, 10:08:23 PM »

What are the symptoms of a circulator pump going? I think it's a Taco 007! Outside temp is 182 at the boiler and in the house it's coming in at 155 and return is 142 to 145 measured by a remote smoker thermometer which I'm sure is not as accurate.

It's moving water then, I'd start with the mixing valve if you have one, how long of a run do you have and what type pipe?

Again, I would start by checking the mixing valve as that seems to be troublesome and is a mechanical thing that will occasionally need servicing then the next thing would be to check for heat loss in the underground pipe!
