What are the best boots foot chainsaw work? I've always felt that was a weak link in my chainsaw safety.

Electronics / Turn off blower
« on: December 12, 2018, 09:56:11 AM »
What’s the latest and greatest way to turn off the blower motor on my 325G when water temperature drops belong a certain point. Sometimes I’m lazy and don’t get to the fire in time and I’d like the blower to not blow cold air into the firebox.
I have a ranco aquastat.
Thanks.

Plumbing / Re: 5 Wrap vs Logstor/Thermopex??
« on: December 04, 2018, 10:04:34 AM »
I pulled out my 5 wrap and replaced with Rehau. The 5 wrap was dry, but I notice a big improvement in heat loss and and burntime since I put in the Rehau. Im not a dealer of anything, just my opinion.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Pump speed
« on: November 22, 2018, 08:29:35 AM »
I went from 3/4 “ on the initial install, which at the time was the recommendation from Nature’s comfort. Beside the pipe being worthless, the return temps were too low. I got the true 1 inch ID fro RSI, and the stove is performing well. I’ll double check return temps, but reallly doubt I need to take up my newly installed Rehau. I’m heating my house which is about 7,000sq ft quite easily.

I have a 275 ft of Rehau 1” going to a 80 plate heat exchanger. What speed should my Grundfos 26-99 run? I guess I need to measure return temps??

Get something you can calibrate to correct and dispatch the difference betweeen probe reading and actual temp—-then you can be happy!

It’s not the gfi...will change fan tomorrow, and buy a spare solinoid.

Yes, I think their were known to put cheap GFI outlets, so I replaced it 5 years ago. Maybe should give that a shot again?

General Discussion / Fan issue
« on: November 19, 2018, 02:10:06 PM »
I have my old 325G back up and running. I removed the old 5 wrap and put in 275 feet of Rehau. So far, it seems to have made a big difference.
Only problem since the start up was a threaded pipe leak which caused the blower to get wet and trip the circuit breaker. I replaced it with an old fan I had on hand. It worked fine over night and is now tripping the breaker again. No sign of moisture, but not sure fan didn’t have problems before I installed it. Is there any the solonoid could cause this problem. Just want to be sure before I go buy a new fan tomorrow.
Is anyone else burning a conventional own?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Boiler treatment and re-start
« on: November 06, 2018, 07:27:30 AM »
My 325G has been sitting idle with no water in it for the last 2 years, but I’m ready to restart it.
I need to buy treatment for the water and curious if I need to prep boiler with anything since it been sitting so long?
