Insulation
« on: September 09, 2014, 11:34:02 AM »

Looking to use spray foam on outside of water jacket.  My previous Central Boiler had it on there.  Would any insulation company be able to do this?  Has anyone had this done. I am not a big fan of wrapping it with fiberglass.  I did that on my last build and just do not think it is as good as the spray on.  New build is starting next week and need to get stuff figured out.  Thanks   NEWMOD

You can also order it online and spray it yourself if you can't find anybody in the area. Far as I'm aware of, CB is the only manufacturer that does the spray on, might be a reason for that. I've built several in the past and used fiberglass on all of them except one, the guy insisted on spray on, told him he was on his own if he ever sprung a leak then held water behind the foam and rotted the whole thing out.

I think I would use Roxul, it has a burn rating of 2200 degrees and easy to replace if need be.
