As you guys know, I'm not a subsidy guy, BUT I sure do get tired of the powerfully connected being handed stolen ratepayers monies to prop up industries like pellets in order to increase their profit margins, well after several years of preaching, I got the word yesterday that high efficiency indoor and outdoor wood boilers will now be added to the approved funding list, for any of you folks here in Maine looking to trade up, there is no better time than now.
Efficiency Maine will be funding 1/3 of the total installed cost up to $5000.

Nothing like that in Indiana unfortunately, probably will really help with sales given the amount they subsidize.

Great news Slim. We've talked alot about how we feel about subsidies , but they are a fact of life these days. We know they aren't going away , good to see they finally apply the the wood heat industry too. About time they recognize that these new boilers are as efficient and clean as any alternative , and for many people with access to wood they can be a big savings over time. Unfortunately the tax payers can't choose where their money goes.

Any idea what models would be included in the description "high efficiency"...is this any epa compliant device ?

It has to be above 70% and on the EPAs program partners list of approved stoves.

 Great news for Mainers. Wish we would do that in Wisconsin. Bernie do that for you? Just kidding Slim!

I would far prefer to see all subsidies disappear and let each industry stand on their own but it seems those who don't take the money, well let's just say they take the shaft instead! No Bernie has never done anything to help me!

I hope it goes better than the 30% back from .gov for solar/wind ..sine obummmer did that ...prices went up 40% on the panels and parts !!!!!😈

Good news for Wisconsin for now. The Republican controlled legislature passed a law prohibiting the DNR of Wisconsin from enforcing the EPA's regulations on wood burners. Since the EPA relies on the states agencies to enforce their regulations this is anticipated to basically nullify their regs on wood burners in Wisconsin for now. Hopefully if we can get a small government conservative in the white house we can get rid of some of these over-regulating agencies.

Michigan did the same, don’t hold your breath, government hates to be ignored, about the time highway funds start to be withheld for non compliance of a federal law I can guarantee Michigan and Wisconsin will change their tune in a hurry.

Thats how they forced Indiana to comply with national seat belt laws, first mention of losing highway funds and Indiana did a Heil Hitler in a hurry.
