Had my NC 325G overheat last night.  Lost about 20 gallons and can't seem to find where the air is entering the firebox.  We re-tighten the door.  Any other ideas?

Check the rubber flap on the fan. They crack sometimes.
Also check to make sure it is adjusted so it goes down far enough to completely seal.

Def check the flapper..Maybe dry rotted and starting to tear at the "joint"..So when the flapper shuts its not covering the fan like it should..What I do to make the flapper last a little longer at "joint"( the part of the flapper that goes up and down) I keep rubber moist with a little grease or a light oil...

I think it was the ash pan.  The gasket is a little off/not even, so I'll try reversing it tomorrow and see if that works.  I covered the chimney and turned the blower on...it was easy to see the air blowing out the ash pan.  Even after fiddling w/ the gasket it still leaks a little under pressure.

Just got back from a 24 hour trip away from home. Had the 325G stoked up before I left with some poplar and pine and about 20# of coal. Backed the house down to 65. Very happy to report that there is still enough in the box to get through tonight!

They'll all leak around door gaskets once under pressure, I agree you may have found it but the most common places I've saw on the nc is the rubber flap cracking around the washer, then of course we see folks sliding there ash pan back in over top debris and having it not set level and cause leaks
