Air Box for HE1100
« on: October 18, 2018, 05:05:47 PM »

Does anyone have any idea where I might obtain an airbox for this furnace? The part I need is the piece where the blower intake mounts to and where the damper solenoid seals. I had to move and my stove went with me but suffered some damage in the process. I think I can straighten the rest hopefully and make it work. At least I hope so this is the first time we have been without some form of heat in our 20+ years of marriage :(  So I definitely need to make something work :)

Thanks

I still get Warren's emails from Hawken support, I wonder if he'd have parts like that? Or maybe a former dealer?

I'm not sure but it's a possibility. I am going to look into straightening it so I can use it but not sure what that will end up as.
It's not damaged all that bad but it's mostly on the top where the damper solenoid seals off the air to the blower. I don't guess that is totally critical since it has no gasket but it sure needs better than it is currently.

This little cold spell down here in Whitetop kinda caught me with by drawers down ;D

I always loved working challenging tasks but seems like as I get older I sure hate dealing with my own LOL!

Thanks for the suggestions

Yup, it's been frosty the last few mornings.. feels great. :)
It is pretty critical the solenoid flap lands flat on the air box, gaps can cause air leakage and boiling issues.

I was under the  same impression. It's pretty messed up on the back side of the sealing surface so I might have to try building it up with something like JB Weld and sand it to where it seals a little better. It was 23 here morning before last and it was downright cold in here with no heat LOL! I could change the sequencer in the electric furnace but I'd probably have to rob a bank to pay the power bill  ;D

Warren should have your part. Hell as of today he was still listing stoves and stove doors for sale in his emails.

I forgot my buddy had a plasma cutter. That was a good thought LOL!   We cut that box apart and was able to straighten it out and weld it back together. Now all I lack is to straighten the metal at the top front where the light is located and the cover that fits over the blower and air damper. Hopefully we'll have it back together and making heat soon!  These 24 degree nights make for some cold times inside too  ;D

Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions!
