Dear Mr. Williams,

I am sorry that there was no reply to your e-mail to the director. Unfortunately, the draft







 rule for OWB is still under Agency review. Right now we do not have an estimate of when a second draft of the rule might be available for public comment.

I know that this is not very informative, and we know that many people are waiting for the next draft of this rule.
The director is also aware of the interest surrounding the rule. I wish I could give you a more concrete time table,
but this is the only information I have at this time.

I thank Erica for getting back to me on this matter.And I thought some of you Ohio  OWB users might want to share with the Ohio EPA your feelings about the new rulings.

PS Let friends or neighbors that have OWB's, know that they also could share there feelings.

thanks for the update.  I knew they were in the process of revising it.  Our local installer was thinking of getting a few a busload or two of  owners to attend a public hearing if necessary.  Fortunately that has not had  to happen yet. 

I did make comment on the first draft which was encoraged by my dealer.  I think there might have been a very large contingent of the Amish community who wrote in.  I know quite a few in the Wayne & Holmes County area have outdoor wood furnaces. I know of 3 of us in my church who have the Woodmaster.  They may have received correspondence from more upset users than they anticipated.

The thing that irks me no end is one of my  neighbors recycles old appliances and burns the insulation off the wires.  Talk about stink. That smells much worse than my wood furnace ever does and they say nothing about that.  I've also seen inside furnace chimneys smoking much worse than my outdoor one.

I just received an e-mail communication from Ohio EPA regarding the wood furnaces. I hope I can attach a copy because it has a couple important e-mail addresses.  This makes a whole lot more sense than their previous blanket ruling they were proposing.  I intend to comment after reading the new rules.  They plan to regulate only those that are burning the nuisance and hazaroudous materials.  Not sure how this will shut down my neighbor.  He recycles old applicances and burns the insulation off the wires in a burn barrel and does it ever stink.  Otherwise they plan to let it up to the local communities for regulation.

PS It might be a good thing to write Carolina Prado from the Ohio EPA and thank her for the action the EPA took on this matter of OWB's,and also keep a lookout for the public comment period so as many of us as possible could attend.

Proposed rules downloaded too but I didn't see them until later.  I plan to comment at the website provided and as you suggested thanking them of seriously reconsidering this issue and looking at it with a little more common sense.
