I got the new float and is has a little different neck set up on it.  Started the boiler today and everything seems OK so far.  Only issue is a wood pile that needs a bunch more wood in it.  Come spring and shut down a few more shark bites will be replaced.

The old float cracked where the threaded rod went into it.  I maybe should have picked up a spare?

Made it thru the winter with no issues and shut it down today.  I have a few more shark bites to replace before the next first fire but other than that it was a trouble free winter as far as the boiler goes.

Replaced all but a couple shark bites during the summer.  Fired it up 10/20/20 and it went pretty well as the couple remaining shark bites only dripped a bit until they got warm.  The last ones are the ones that hook up to the heat exchangers so next summer I will pull them out and solder on something better.  Just need to come up some kind of a coupler so if need be I can pull the heat exchangers without cutting PEX to do it. Off to a pretty good start. :)

5/1/21 I shut "Little Smokey" down for the season.  I replaced all but a couple "Shark Bites" and had almost no drips while cooling down for this summer.  This last winter was a very trouble free season!!  Now to get to work on next seasons wood pile and there is a new bull at the farm that I need to spend some time with to know how he thinks.  So far all he seems interested in are where the cows are.  Go figure!! ;D

I've seen those sharkbites drip when shutting down too. Good call on swapping them out.

It seems my water lever float has cracked at the neck like the one before it.  Should have gotten a spare or two.

Burning a fair amount of iron wood this winter.  If dry it burns very nice. :)

Had a trouble free season.  I learned how to shut it down for a week due to warm weather and start it up in a couple hours. There is a tiny air leak someplace and the fire just keeps smoldering if I throw in a chunk or 2 every couple of days.  Only a couple shark bites still in the system only because they have not leaked like all the rest.
